He has been active on the folk music scene for many years and his songs have been recorded and performed by many of the best known names in Scottish folk music including Ronnie Browne, The McCalmans, Gaberlunzie, Steven Quigg and Crooked Jack. Billy has a number of recordings to his credit including MEMORIES OF MY FUTURE,BEST OF THREE,SHADOWS and an album of songs about the steel industry in Lanarkshire STEEL AWAY. Billy has worked with The New Makars Trust both as a songwriter and a Project Director on songwriting projects and has been involved for many years in songwriting in schools.
